Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Child Support Question

Currently I have custody of my 2 children and receive child support. My Daughter, age 15 wants to live with my ex wife and my son age 13 wants to stay with me. If one child moves with my ex-wife and the other remains with me can I simply have my ex stop paying support as we each would have 1 child.

Re: Child Support Question

No. You will need to file a legal change of custody and modification of child support with the court (or agency if it is an administrative order). If both parties are in agreement, this can be done by agreed entry.

The child support laws recently changed and are now a bit more complicated. Please feel free to contact my office if you need more elaborate information.
