Child Support

How to go about getting child support reduced due to lack of employment. No legal aid in my area.

You might have a chance if your unemployment is involuntary. Voluntary unemployment will not result in a reduction, unless the other party's income is also reduced. In the absence of employment, a hearing officer will impute an income to you that corresponds to what you have earned in the most recent years. Also remember that unemployment compensation is considered income for child support purposes. If a proper number cannot be arrived at, it will start at minimum wage income.
