Re: What's considered legal?

You are still legally married even though you have not consumated your marriage. However, one of the grounds that a marriage can be annulled is if the marriage was never consummated. An annulment is a procedure through the courts by which your marriage is deemed to have never existed. Feel free to contact me with further questions about procedures to obtain an annulment.

Re: What's considered legal?

The marriage is a voidable marriage if it has not been consumated. This means that party who has been harmed can seek an annulment of the marriage which in effect states that the marriage never existed. However, an action for annulment on the grounds of lack of consumation must be brought within two years of the date of the marriage. Feel free to contact me if you have additional questions.
