Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Court ordered tuition payments

My step-son's mother is ordered by the court to pay his tuition to a private middle school. She is to pay directly to the school in accordance to the policies and deadlines of the school. She is not doing this. She is missing deadlines or paying after we call her numerous times. Should we go back to court and request her wages be garnished? Is this hard to do?

Re: Court ordered tuition payments

She is in contempt of court if it is in the Court's entry. The remedy is to take her to court for the contempt. The punishments at this hearing are that she be ordered to pay your atty fees, 30 days in jail, 250 fine. The Court could order any all or none of the punishments. The Court could use one of the punishments if she is not timely on the tuition.

Good luck!!
