Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Custody

I have a child with a woman, who I was never marride too. We have parted ways and I want to ensure my rights with my child. Along with the agreement that she does not want child support payments. Our relationship is civil, so I don't need to fight with her. Can we write up our own documents and expectations - signed/notarized/etc. Would something like this hold up in the court? If things ever changed regarding our civil nature. I want to protect myself from child support since she agrees to not ask for it.

Also, does the court even need to be involved?

Thanks.

Re: Custody

It is the best interest of the child that takes legal precedence over other competing interests, for example, parental rights. So, there isn't a straightforward answer to this. I suggest you consult an attorney.
