Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Custody of my daughter and her father's other daughter

My daughter's father has threatened in the past to take custody of my 1yr old daughter. He has been abusive to me and the kids in the past and still has a heavy temper. However if I leave him I'm unable to take his oldest daughter b/c she isn't mine. I stay around to protect her but I'm concerned about all of our safety. I have a general idea of how to get custody of my daughter but how do I get custody of his? Her birth mom has lost custody and he was awarded full custody 1year ago. How would I go about getting both my girls? I've raised his daughter for 3yrs now and she looks to me as her mother and I love her dearly, just as much as her sister. Please help. Thank you.

Staying in an abusive relationship is damaging to you and both your daughters. If you feel your stepdaughter would be in danger if you were to leave, you should start with consulting with children's protective services of Jobs and Family Services in your county.
