Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

custody

My ex mother inlaw and I signed a hand written piece of notebook paper a few months ago giving her temporary custody. We only had it notorized at the bank and we never filed anything with the courts.

She recently informed me that she intended to take me to court for temporary custody. I want my son back and I don't want to have to deal with the court system to do it. How legal is our document? Can't I just go take my son back before we get to the courts? What can I legally do here and how can I legally do it?

THANKS!

Re: custody

The document has no legal value, it could be introduced in court only to show that you two had an agreement. Sounds to me like you will end up in court. If you are in or around Summit, feel free to call or e-mail for a free initial consultation.
