Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Custody and neighboring states
Situation 1--a divorced couple has shared custody of 4 children. All are residents of West Virginia. Female parent and all children will move to Ohio. In the event that the female parent would die, would custody of the children revert to the male parent? In other words would Ohio Law recognize a shared custody agreement out of WV? Situation 2--same divorced couple, but now female parent has full custody--she's and children move to Ohio and then she dies. Would male parent be awarded custody?

Re: Custody and neighboring states
Ohio will recognize the shared parenting agreement from any state in the union. There is a preference to place the child with a natural parent regardless of the nomenclature of the parenting arrangement. Therfore, you must take special precautions if you do not want the kids to gowith your ex.
