Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Is there a way to get a divorce involving children in less then 3 months?

Hello,

I met with my attorney due to my husband stating he wants a divorce. I stated to the attorneys that I don't have much money-know what I want out of the divorce and would like it asap so I am not responsible for all the cost? I was told it would take 9-12 months? Is there any way to get this done right away and shouldn't he be responsible for the divorce cost since he's requesting the divorce? I just need guidance - this is really hard for me.

First, depending on the disparity of the incomes, the Court MAY have him pay atty fees. Secondly, I understand that you know what you want and if you agree, the case can be concluded fairly quickly. However, if you disagree as to the terms of the separation agreement then it could take time. The case could be concluded very quickly, if you give up on everything, however, that is not recommended as you have to look out for your future.
