me and my wife are legally separated 2 years our attorny quit practicing all but 250.00 is paid now we need to find a different lawyer is the money we paid lost or can it be applied to the new lawyer?

Unfortunately the money you paid to the attorney will only apply to him and not to another attorney. However, if I had your file I could see what he did and what there is left to do. I would have to know what stage you are at in the divorce process.
