Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Divorce/custody question
I am planning to file for divorce from
my husband of 8 years. I wish to
have custody of our two minor
children. Legal counsel has advised
me that I must remain in the marital
home to accomplish that objective.
There has been no physical abuse,
but I very much wish to move out of
the marital home. Is there a second
opinion on this issue or do I definitely
have to remain in the home?

Re: Divorce/custody question
The fact that the children are accommodated well in the marital home with their own rooms, routines and equipment, and school district--the same could not happen elsewhere--is a major reason for staying there. If the same can be done elsewhere, the parents should not have to be tied to the marital home. I suggest a second opinion.
