Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Divorce/Custody/Polygamy

My ex-wife's former husband filed for divorce in 1998, but he didn't follow through, and the case was dismissed in 2000. I was unaware of this, and married her in 2001. We were divorced in 2006. In early 2007, she filed for divorce from her previous husband.

I have custody of our daughter. What is our legal situation? Do I have any recourse?

Re: Divorce/Custody/Polygamy

Legally you were never married. Your marriage was void from the beginning. This may nullify all the orders in place from your divorce. I would need to see your separation agreement to get an idea of how this may effect you. Also, I would need more information from you. This may or may not work to your advantage. Also, she is probably criminally liable for bigamy. I do a lot of domestic work and would be interested to talking to you about your case. Feel free to contact me If you wish. Best regards, Edward DiCato
