I am a Canadian citizen currently vacationing in Akron Ohi. While remaining in the State, I wish to obtain a divorce from my Canadian spouse. I have future plans to marry a citizen of Ohio

First of all I am in Akron Ohio. Second in order to obtain jurisdiction in the Courts you must be a resident of Ohio for 6 months and summit county for 90 days. At athat time you can get divorced, but the Court may not have jurisdiction over Canadian assets.

You are going to have to remain in Ohio for a minimum of 6 months before any Ohio court will have jurisdiction over your situation.
