Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Domestic charge

Boyfriend - Girlfriend lives together. They get into a verbal argument only and the girlfriend calls the police. They arrest the boyfriend, then she (the girlfriend) drops the charges. However the prosecutor disregards this and continues to go forward with the charges. Doesn't the prosecutor have to follow the wishes of the person who brought the charges in the first place?

Re: Domestic charge

No, the complaining witness loses all real control once he/she files the charges. Only the prosecutor or judge has the discretion to dismiss them once the process has begun.
