Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
domestic violence
my boyfriends ex-wife is abusive to him. they have two children together. he is afraid to call the police on her, out of fear of losing his children to the foster care system. his ex has told him that if he calls the police, both of them would be arrested and the childrens custody would be questionable. what can he do to stop her violent behavior without losing his children? they live in the state of ohio and i am not sure about their domestic violence laws and i want to help him.

Re: domestic violence
They do not necessarily arrest both prople in a domestic violence situation. If he neither touches or threatens her, he should not be charged. Perhaps an event will occur when a witness is present. If they arrest her, he would be left with the children. CSB would not be called since there is a parent available to care for them.
