Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
I am a dual US/Polish citizen. I am a father to a 6 years old son. We have never been married with his mom. I returned to Poland 3 years ago and I come to visit Alex ocasionally.
We have a great contact with my son, speaking on skype or on the phone a few times a week. He's mom never makes any problems for me to stay with Alex when I come to visit.I want his mom to let me take him for vacation to my country but she always refuses. It's been going on for 3 years, she always says she is not ready. I am affraid she'll never let me take him there. What should i do? I do send her a child support but we never went to court to establish neither my responsibilities or my rights because we both simply wanted the best for our child.

In Ohio, if you want any sort of legally enforceable relationship with your son, you will have to go to the Juvenile Court in the county in which your son resides and bring a motion to establish paternity. Once you do that, the court will order visitation and child support. Unfortunately, the court will likely not count any of the money that you have given to the child's mother.
Then, if the Court says it is okay, you can take Alex to Poland. But without a court order, you can't even take him to dinner without her say so.
