Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

enforcing a divorce agreement

When I divorced 4 years ago, it was in our divorce order that I must re-finance my house to have my spouses name taken off the loan within 12 months. I did'nt and now 4 years later she is threatening legal action. Can she still force my compliance after that amount of time? She also filed chapter 7 bankruptcy immediately after our divorce-would'nt that eliminate her from the loan?

Re: enforcing a divorce agreement

Contempt of a court order is still contempt, no matter how old it is. As to the bankruptcy, it still does not affect compliance with the divorce decree. It eliminates her obligation on the loan, but she may still have her credit encumbered.
