Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Family Law/ visitation and Step parent adoption

I had a child with my boyfriend when i was 17, now i am 26 married and have a sweet 9 year old boy. My husband has been with my son and i since he was 1 and my son'd father has not seen him nor paid child support since he was a baby. Recently my son's father started paying child support and now he is asking (through his girlfriend) to see my son after 9 years. For the past few my husband and i have been talking about a step parent adoption but we decided we wanted to wait until my son was old enough to understand and agree to the adoption. Now my son's father is starting to pay child support and wanting to see him, does this affect our chances of having my husband adopt my son? Thanks!

There is a possibility that this could affect the adoption process. But, I would need more facts. Are you living in the same state as your ex-boyfried? Does your son treat your husband as if he is his father? What sort of relationship does he have with his biological father? Feel free to contact me for a free consultation. I was in a similar situation like this when I was a child and would love to help in anyway that I can.
