Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Foreclosure on a quit deed claim

I had a dissolution around 12 years ago. I quit claim deed our mortgage to my now ex-husband. I just recieved a notice from an attorney that they are going to foreclose on the property and that I am being held responsible for the dept. I have my dissolution papers which I signed my rights to the house away along with the quit deed agreement. Can I be held liable? And what do I need to do now?

Re: Foreclosure on a quit deed claim

You need to file an answer on the foreclosure, and file a motion to show cause in contempt in domestic relations court against your ex-husband for defaulting on the mortgage. The decree requires him to hold you harmless from the foreclosure.
