Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Guardian threatening to take custody of child

My child's godmother has guardianship because my living arrangements weren't what I wanted for my daughter. I now plan to move to Texas to be with my mom, Guardian is threatening to take custody of my daughter even though I was told in Probate court I could terminate guardianship at any time. If I am working and have a safe home for my daughter is she able to still get custody of my daughter, and when I go back to Probate Court to cancel the guardianship, can she refuse to let my daughter leave? What are my rights?

Re: Guardian threatening to take custody of child

the probate court does not handle custody matters (except adoption). You probably won't have any trouble terminating the gaurdianship. She would need to go to juvenile court to petition for legal custody, then you might have problems.
