Harassment

While separated and even after our divorce was final. My Ex-wife has continually harassed and slandered

me, or both my girlfriend and I. This takes place on the phone,in public (usually at one of our kids

functions)or by filing papers to appear in court (for any reason she or her attorney can think of.) This has been going on for more than two years. My attorney told me she is out of control and doing her part of being an ex-spouse. Do I (we) have to continue to put up with this or is there something that can be done. Not only does this cause mental anguish, but money, time and expenses to appear in court just to have the case dismissed, dropped or thrown out.

I can empathize with your situation. I have a client who is in a similar situation to yurs. First, look at your divorce decree. If it says that she can not annoy or harass, you can file for contempt. Second, you may want to file domestic violence charges against her for menacing.
