Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Hi,

I have been living here in the US since 2000. I have been married in India in 2006 - husband is a green card holder and I am on a H1B visa. He has filed for a divorce and I am having to pay him becuase he has been able to cleverly plan this out with his family's help - he has diverted quite a bit of money to his family in the name of loans. I did not have a competent attorney who understands how things work in India with families. I do not have a family to support me in India or here - what are my options if I want file a case against deceitful representation and collusion by family? What clauses do I add in the agreement that will safe guard my interests?

Thanks.

I believe your divorce and your immigration status are separate issues. Did your husband file for divorce in the U.S. or India? If in the U.S., then you should find a competent attorney to help preserve the assets you have coming to you under U.S. law. Regarding your H1B status, you need to keep current with that and determine your own options depending on your status.
