Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

The home we are living in now was given to my by my parents, when I was previously separated from my husband. I have paid all taxes and insurance on the property. What right would my spouse have to this property if we were to divorce?

He likely would not have any right to the property. However, you may have to give up additional property that you accumulated in the marriage to him to account for the house. Is the home in your name? Has your husband ever put any money or work into the home?

If you are planning to divorce your husband you definitely want an attorney to represent you. I would be happy to do that and I would attempt to work out an agreement so you could keep your home.
