Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

house & divorce

My husband wants a divorce. He moved out 5 mon. ago but there has been no legal separation. I applied for child support. He said he won't have to give me anything after child support goes into effect. I'm still paying our bills with the money that he gives me. The house is in his name. Will he still have to pay for the mortgage or will my kids and I not have a house to live in. I don't work.

Re: house & divorce

There are laws that govern child support and alimony. The splitting of your assets will determine your living arrangements. You should consult an attorney to determine where you and the children will stand financially and not rely on an informal arrangement between you and your spouse.
