Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

House full of delinquents

How do you legally remove disrespectful, thieving, delinquients who continuously bring home 'friends' who are also untrustworthy. The adults of the house are afraid of these individuals and the growing number of them who are coming into their home. There is excessive verbal abuse and threats. How do you legally remove them from the home permanently? Ages range from 15 to 21. One adult is the parent of them and the other is the step parent who is trying to protect 2 small children from these delinquents. The other biological parent wants nothing to do with them.

Re: House full of delinquents

There are legal measures that can be taken. My first advice would be for the legal residents of the home to contact an attorney directly. Your questions raises a number of issues and it sounds like there is a significant fear or intimidation factor.

The legal resident-the owner or the legal tenant- has the right to tell other adults or minors to stay out. If they will not stay away voluntarily it may be necessary to get a restraining or protective order. If they can not afford to talk to an attorney, then talk to the Police or the prosecutor for your City.

This sounds like a dangerous situation that needs some quick action!

Call me if you have more questions.

Good Luck!
