Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Husband Gone Missing
On Valentine's Day, after my husband being habitually drunk on and off for several months, I left a note and told him I could not take the instability anymore. I told him to get out, to take his bills, his paycheck, and his stuff and just leave. He would go out before I would get home and be gone 3, 4, even 5 days at a time. He left February 15th and I haven't spoken with him since that time. His cell phone is off and I am trying to get in touch with him to have him sign a Quit Claim Deed on the house we purchased two years ago. We have no equity, the housing market is crap so we probably couldn't sell it for what we owe on it and I cannot find him. How long does he have to be gone before the court can intervene so I can get my payments down to a more affordable payment? Please help!

Re: Husband Gone Missing
It will be much simpler to try to find him than to have him declared missing. Even though he is a joint owner on the home, you yourself may be able to refinance without his approval.
