In Ohio, the court that set the child support obligation in your future spouse's will consider your income in determining her child support obligations if the other spouse files a motion to modify the previous child support order and that court can alter the child support obligations accordingly.

However, that court cannot order you to pay anything directly. But if you were counting on getting a certain level of income from your future spouse, if the divorce court increases what he or she has to pay, then the effect upon you is largely the same, less money will be left at the end of each month for the two of you.

If you and your future spouse were to sign a strict pre-nuptial agreement, this might have some effect upon whether the ex can use your income as a factor to upwardly modify the amount of child support owed.
