Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
incorrigible Teen
What is the criteria to have a teen declared incorrigible in the state of ohio?
I am in over my head with an adoption of a teen who is 16. I adopted him 3 years ago. Since then he has smacked my 4 yo for giggling, ran away 6 times, 23 days of detention suspensions from school last year, and is at 6 so far this year.
He is extremely destructive in the home. Threatened to kill 2 other kids, everyone at school, and himself. There have been times when I was afraid to go to sleep. I have not left my younger child alone with him for over a year because I'm afraid he'll hurt him.
I have had him in therapy (privately) once a week for 1.5 years. I have him receiving therapy twice a week through the school system. He is on an IEP which targets behavior and is in a behavior disorder class.
The school no longer wants him there, but I can't afford the $3200/month for partial hospitalization program. The school and I are trying to work out something that won't bankrupt me and still provide his education.
He has served 2 community services, 1 home incarceration, and is on probation. He has had 2 unruly charges - 1 for the 5th runaway by me, and 1 for the 6th by the local polic.
I am a single mom.. in over my head.

Re: incorrigible Teen
It is possible, although not easy, to dissolve an adoption. Did you contact the agency you worked with?
