Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

My late husband committed suicide 3 years ago and our daughter is 3 years old. His parents and I had been getting along very well all this time up until the past few months. I had stopped letting my daughter see them when I noticed her behavior change for the worse. They started blaming me for their son's death, saying I made him kill himself and threatening to come take my daughter. I live in Ohio and they live in Illinois. His mother never wanted anything to do with my daugher and his father has always been an alcholic. When my mother comes to pick up my daugher at their house, she is never allowed in and they have all her stuff that came with her outside in bags. It just seems strange, and I was just wondering if they had grandparent rights? I believe that my daughter shouldn't see them for the sake of her safety and health. I have never done anything to these people, I have let them see her over these past 3 years and I do not deserve to be blamed or threatned. Thank you for your time as to, I have no idea on how to handle this.

Grandparents don't have any specific rights in Ohio any longer. You do not have to let them visit. They would need to go to court to establish any type of visitation and a court may not grant them at all. Please feel free to contact me if you have further questiions. Edward DiCato
