legal right to cash an insurance check written out to my husband?

There is a civil protection order against my husband, he can not come around me. An insurance check came in the mail. It is written out to him.I could use some of that money to help pay bills and get things for our daughter that she needs. Am I permitted legally to sign his name to that check and cash it.

No. If you do that, you could be charged with forgery and theft.
