Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
do I have legal grounds
I was recently engaged to my 3yr. old daughters father, that I had been with on and off for 8yrs. I finally broke-up with him 2mths. ago for good due to years of emotional abuse and just constant lies from him, that in the last few months started to turn physical. He would argue with me over everything in front of our daughter and at times she would would crawl on my lap and cry and ask him to be nice to mommy and he would just laugh at her. Whenever I would tell anyone he would say he was just kidding or I misunderstood him or it never happen and I was crazy. But, in the past he has made me do things sexually I have not wanted to do and have asked him not to and this time when I would tell him I didn't not want to have sex with him there was times he would make me anyway. He would take things from our daughter and do pick on her to to a point where she would just sit there and cry so hard, then he would make fun of her and call her names and when I would ask him to stop he would tell me he liked seeing her cry she was being such a baby and it was funny. There was even a time at the end where he bite her on the arm after he started playing a biting game with her. What I want to know is if I have any legal grounds I can take.

Re: do I have legal grounds
You would have grounds for temporary and permanent residential custody of your child, with him paying child support. As to criminal grounds, what you have probably does not rise to the level of an assault.
