Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Legal name after remarriage

I have children by a first marriage and I am getting remarried shortly. I want to know if there is a way to sign the marriage license so that I can use both my previous married name (to keep a name connection with my children) and my new married name. I don't want to hyphenate but would like to use the two names interchangeably and only use both on legal materials.

Re: Legal name after remarriage

You don't have to legally change your name to begin using another name, but the normal practice is to stay with a single name. If you are going to use your previous name informally--on cards, letters, invitations, etc., there should be no problem. But stay consistent with your legal affairs.
