Can a life insurance policy be contested by a child not named on the policy? If someone passes without a will how can I (child) claim his property from a girlfriend of his that he lived with?

Re: Life Insurance Policy

Generally, if a person is not named as a beneficiary, the only way a life insurance payout can be contested is to prove that the owner was not of sound mind when the policy was entered into. If he passed without a will, you can claim your share asa next of kin. The girlfriend has no legal claim without being married to the deceased.
