1 Answer from Attorneys
In Ohio, if one parent is endangering the child (in this case through possible neglect of proper medical attention), the other parent can bring an action in court to change custody of the child so that the medical needs can be appropriately addressed. You would likely want to speak with an attorney about this. If you cannot afford an attorney, you might want to consult your local Legal Aid Society, or go to the legal clinic at the local law school if there is one near you. Further, you can ask your county Bar Association to a referral to an attorney who would do pro bono work for you. Your last option would be to contact children's services in your area and explain the situation to them and your concerns about the child's health.
