what is the difference between shared parenting and standard order of visitation?

No longer very much. Shared parenting is preferred by the courts. This means both parents assume equal responsibility for the children with the exception that there needs to be one address as a point of contact. Previously, one parent had 'custody' and the other paid out child support to the custodial parent. This is the simple explanation. Of course, it's more complicated.
