Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Parents signing Legal Consent In Ohio
My parents are willing to sign a consent that my 18yr old boyfriend and I can date. We don't engage in any type of sexual conduct, but his parents dislike me and don't want us together so they are forcing us to break up because they are worried my parents will press charges. My parents want to have something notorized saying that if we were to date they couldn't/wouldn't in any situation press charges. How can they do this?

Re: Parents signing Legal Consent In Ohio
If you are 16 or over, there is no problem. He cannot be charged, even for consensual sex. If you are 15 or under, nothing your parents do or say can help. If the authorities find out, it will be the State of Ohio that brings the charges and will have nothing to do with your parents.
Of course, he can't be charged for just being around you and being friends. With no sexual activity, he can't be charged.
