Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Ex parte communications & access to joint accounts

My case involves documented ex parte communications between the opposing counsel and a newly elected judge in having a 'judge of choice' appointed to hear the case. The 'judge of choice' issued orders before appointment by the Supreme Court. Then, the newly elected judge solicited a telephone conference, and asked for motions to be filed (stay on or off case) all the while, according to documentation, had already filed for a visiting judge with the Supreme Court. This has caused major havoc with the case and my life. (Other issues: altered evidence, misrepresentations to the court). My personal account information (SS#) has been sent over the internet via e-mail without password protection. I am being denied access to joint investment information. Tax returns were filed jointly without my authorization or signature (now need tax attorney). I have been denied access to marital funds to hire experts or pay my attorney ($3M in liquid marital assets). My motions for fees are tabled without a ruling. There are several instances where opposing counsels motion were favorable ruled, while my counsel was denied the opportunity to file a rebuttal! This case involves politics, money, greed, but very little Ohio law. What is my recourse?

Re: Ex parte communications & access to joint accounts

It sounds like you need to have a serious talk with your attorney. I am sure the attorney is frustrated with the case also and will have some answers for you if you can get the time to go over the issues in detail.

Unfortunately, there can be some "political" issues in domestic cases.

Try talking to your attorney. If you have tried that and are not satisfied with what you hear, you do have a right to seek a confidential second opinion.

With that in mind, if you would like to discuss this in more detail, feel free to give me a call or send me an email with your contact information. I have handled DR cases for the past 34 years and may be able to give you a little insight.
