Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
Paternity and visitation and/or custody
I've got an 11 1/2 year old daughter; just found out ~ 1 month ago. I've never met her. I want to establish paternity, meet her, set up visitation, and whatever the future may hold beyond that. She is not with her mother or the ''father'' listed on the birth certificate. I'm trying to find out what rights I have...it's not abandonment since I never knew, right?

Re: Paternity and visitation and/or custody
If you believe that you are the father of this child, you should retain an attorney and file an action to establish paternity and request the relief that you want, such as custody/visitation.
Time is NOT on your side in this case, and you should act as soon as possible to protect your rights.
Of course, you should find an attorney who is experienced in these types of cases. You can get more information by visiting my family law blog (www.SCFamilyLaw.com) or our website (www.StevensFirm.com).
Good luck,
