Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

When I got pregnant almost 6 years ago there was no doubt in my mind that my on again off again boyfriend was the father. 5 years later we ended up in court and finally got a paternity test done, he is not her father. My question is does he have any legal rights to her, and how do I go about getting his name off the birth certificate if he is refusing to let it happen. I would rather not have him in her life because he talks trash about me in front of her and trys to dictate how I should raise my daughter.

I am sorry about your situation. You need to file a motion in court to terminate his parental rights. Does he want parental rights? Has he paid any child support? Does he even want to be the father of your child?

Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at either [email protected] or [email protected]. I am happy to help in any way that I can, even if it is just drafting the necessary paperwork.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Have a great day.
