Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
I am looking at purchasing the petition for divorce form for Ohio from your website. While looking at the sample I see a place for a Petitioner's signature as well as a Respondent's signature. Am I the petitioner if I file for divorce? And is the respondent my soon to be ex? What if they won't sign the papers? Can I still file the petition with the court? I don't have any children from this marriage and I haven't live with my spouse in over 2 years.

I would not recommend filling out a form from a website to get a divorce. There is much more to the process than that. Let me assist you throughout the process. I only charge $50 per hour and I do payment plans.

If you'er filing for dissolution your are Petitioner 1 and your spouse Petitioner 2. If divorce, you are the plaintiff and your spouse, the defendant. If your spouse refuses to sign in advance of going to court, you will likely be filing for divorce. Good luck.
