Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

QDRO not filed by the attorney

My attorney did not file a QDRO for one of my retirement accounts we agreed she should have. However, my wife diligently waited for 6 months before we found this out. The lawyer has agrred to fix it for free. My wife believe the lawyer is sandbagging and wants me to get another lawyer. We have one child and so I would like to keep it friendly. She has badgered me into agreeing to get another lawyer if this one has not made any progress by the end of the week. What would be some reasonable ways to apporach this problem.

Re: QDRO not filed by the attorney

Get an assurance in writing from your attorney and share that assurance with your ex-wife. If your attorney agreed to cover the cost of the QDRO, then perhaps, he will or has put this in writing along with a timeframe for processing the paperwork. (Once the paperwork is begun, it does not take very long to complete.)
