Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Right to know

I raised my mentally handicapped daughter for 24 yrs. and shared all info with my ex. He now decided that he needed to take guardianship. He is now the legal guardian and will not share any information regarding her (health, work, etc.) with me. I am her mother! Is he legally allowed to do this? If he is, will going to court help me in getting information? Thank you.

Re: Right to know

To have been appointed guardian of a person deemed incompetent, there should have been a court hearing, at which time you could have voiced your concerns. I suggest contacting the guardianship office at the Probate Court to express your concern. You may also be able to write a letter for the court to consider.
