Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio
I have had a rare, chronic illness since 2004. Despite this, I underwent fertility treatments and an IUI at the request/pleading of my husband, which resulted in a successful pregnancy which was followed by a miscarriage 8 weeks later. Following up with a fetal medicine specialists, it was recommended that I do not ever attempt another pregnancy due to the danger to myself as well as the fetus. 6 months following this, I have now been diagnosed with an ovarian tumor which will result in the removal of at least one ovary and tube, and possibly, a hysterectomy. Two days following the surgical consult with the oncologist, my husband asked me for a divorce.
I do not work because of my existing illness (have applied for disability but not approved, awaiting appeal). What rights do I have to receive spousal support and continued health coverage. There are no children; state of Ohio. I am deathly afraid to be left trying to find a place to live (NOTHING is in my/joint name) while dealing with the possibility of ovarian cancer on top of an existing illness.

My sympathy goes out to you both for this burden in your lives. From what you write here, you should be entitled to spousal support at least for a time until you can get back on your feet. Regarding any marital assets, each asset would have to be looked at to determine what it is.
