Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

I recently found out that I might have an 18 year old daughter in another state. Can I be held responsible for back child support for a child I didn't know I had?

Likely no, especially if the mother never attempted to come after you for child support. I would definitely contest this if she decides to come after you. Also, I would request a paternity test if the mother tries to get back child support.

My best advice is to deny, deny, deny. Don't admit anything.

Feel free to contact me, free of charge, at [email protected] or at 330-447-7634. I am happy to help in any way that I can. You will want an attorney if the mother pursues this.

Thank you and I look forward to hearing from you.
