Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Recording Conversation

I am divorced. I have custody of the children. My ex-spouse is seeking custody of the minor children. Can you legally record your minor child talking to his mother only recording the minor child's side of the conversations?

Re: Recording Conversation

There are lots of problems around entering tape recorded conversations into evidence. All parties have to be informed of being recorded. The child is a minor whose best interests have to be kept in mind. An adult would have to stand as guardian in his place. Recording conversations also erodes what little trust is left in parenting relationships and arouses more anger.
