Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

reduction in child support

I pay child support to my ex-girlfriend for my daughter. The amount is court ordered. When the calculations were configured, my wife and I had 1 child, we recently had another child. Can I file for a reduction in child support on account of another dependent? Also, my ex-girlfriend is currently not working. I was told after 6 months she can file for an increase in child support on account of loss of her income. Is this true? I was also wondering, I pay a large sum of child support, yet still have to buy my daughters clothes and shoes because her mother claims she can't afford it. Yet, my ex always has brand new shoes and clothes and goes out all the time. It is obvious that my daughter is not benefiting from the child support, is there anything I can do? Thank-you.

Re: reduction in child support

The easiest answer is to ask the Court for custody of the child. The other option is to buy the child what she wants, but it should stay at your house. Once she gets the child support the court can not regulate what it is used for unless the purpose is illegal. Good Luck!!!!!!!!!
