Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

refusing visitation

My ex's mother has custody of my daughter. I am supposed to have her every other weekend and one day a week. I recently moved in with my boyfriend and his dad. When I called to get her on my weekend her grandmother told me she wouldn't let her stay here with me because she doesn't know the people I am living with. She has met my boyfriend on several occasions. She told me I could only come and get her and take her to do something but not keep her overnight until I get my own place. Is she allowed to do this and if not what do I do?

Re: refusing visitation

If this matter were to come before the Court, it is quite possible that a guardian ad litem might evaluate your situation since your are not living with the child's father, you don't have a legal relationship with your boyfriend or his father. This means the child could be living with two unknown men in order to be with you.
