Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Relocating and Child Custody

My ex husband and I are in the process of reconciling. In addition to our daughter, he has a now 10 yr old son. We currently live 600+ miles apart, and he is wanting to relocate to my city to reconcile. The mother of his son is a drug abuser, to the point of doing this in front of her children. He is wanting to gain custody of his son and eventually move him here with us. The city he currently is in is smaller, job opportunities are less and he is currently liveing with his father (my ex). Would moving here, helping to raise his daughter, us reconciling and better chances for stability here help his custody case when filed, or would the fact that he's moving out of state hinder his chances of custody?

Re: Relocating and Child Custody

You are faced with several major issues. I recommend working on 'first family' issues first and 'blended family' issues next. So, figure out custody when relocation may be involved. Next work on remarriage. There have to be issues there as well.
