Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

Remarrying and Moving Out of State with Children

I am getting remarried and his job is transferring him out of state at some point this year for a promotion. We currently live in Ohio. There is nothing in the divorce papers about not being able to move out of state. I want my ex to continue to see the kids and I am willing to pay some of the travel costs associated. Can my ex keep me from moving with my husband? Who do I need to notify and what steps should I take?

Re: Remarrying and Moving Out of State with Children

Refer to your shared parenting plan to see what it says about giving notice to a spouse regarding a move out of your county or state. Usually written notice is required and also written consent that the other spouse agrees to the children's new out-of- county or out-of-state visitation arrangement.
