Legal Question in Family Law in Ohio

requirements of emergency custody and status conference

when a final custody hearing has occurred and no ruling has been made for 5 to 6 months what is the best avenue to pursue? Is it necessary to provide

additional ground for a request for emergency custody?

Will a status conference accomplish anything besides update everyone involved?

Re: requirements of emergency custody and status conference

Unfortunately there are no good answers. The Court will take its time to make a careful and deliberate answer. In the mean time lives are in a turmoil. I would suggest having your attorney contact either the bailiff or the Judges law clerk in order to find out when a decision will be made.

Your ultimate remedy is to campaign against judges who take that long to make a decision.
